What is UNITY?

Our Church History

Unity Church of Delray Beach has a rich history. It began in 1948, when Mrs. Frances Jarrell, a dedicated Truth student, started a class of instruction in the Delray Beach Women’s Club.

The group later moved to an upstairs room on Atlantic Avenue; it was fondly referred to as the Upper Room.

In the Upper room recently ordained Rev. Frances Jarrell conducted her first service on December 16, 1950.

Since Rev. Jarrell, each minister has brought Unity of Delray Beach an abundance of special gifts and talents.

Rev. Nancy Norman came to Unity of Delray in 1992 as an associate minister and assumed her current position of senior minister in 1996.

Rev. Norman's ministry is filled with grace, love and light. Her teachings and lessons have inspired and helped many. Through her writing and published works she is fulfilling her personal vision: "To empower people to realize their full God potential.”

Our Unity sanctuary, hexagonal in shape, walled with clear glass, and surrounded by gardens, reflects the dignity and simplicity of a Unity service.
